Day 1 Harris, MI
We begin our journey as we board our
deluxe motorcoach and travel across
Wisconsin and into Michigan for our
overnight in Harris at Island Resort &
Casino.

Day 2 Mackinac Island, MI
This morning we’ll travel the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan to St. Ignace.
We’ll board Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac
Island. As you step upon the island you
will feel as if you have stepped back in
time. Horse drawn vehicles transport
everything from supplies for the business
on the island to passengers. We’ll board
one ourselves to be transported to the
Grand Hotel for the legendary Grand
Luncheon Buffet. It is a one-of-a kind
Grand Hotel experience. It features
garden-fresh salads, savory cheeses,
slow-roasted meats, seafood and a
wide selection of fruits and fresh-baked
desserts made daily by their pastry
chef. Following lunch, take some time
to relax on the hotel’s porch. At 660
feet, the Grand Hotel’s Front Porch is the
world’s largest and has one of the most
spectacular views of the straits. This
afternoon we will board a carriage for a
tour of the island. For anyone who has
seen the movie “Somewhere in Time”
there will be moments of deja vu during
the tour of this picturesque island. We’ll
check-in to our accommodations at the
Bicycle Street Inn, located right on Main
Street in the center of downtown. This
evening you are on your own to wander
down Main Street and visit some of
Mackinac Island’s unique shops and have
some dinner. Be sure to taste some of the
famous Mackinac Island fudge! (B, L)

Day 3 Hillmar, MI
This morning is on your own to enjoy
and explore the island. You may rent
a bike to explore, shop along Main
Street, relax at our hotel or visit Fort
Mackinac. Mackinac Island has a lot to
offer. We’ll board the ferry again after
lunch time and travel to St. Ignace and
meet our guide for a fascinating ride
across the Mighty Mac Bridge. At one
time this was the longest suspension
bridge in the world. Hear the dramatic
tales of the brave iron workers who
built this massive structure. We’ll drop
our guide off in Mackinaw City and
depart for 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.
Located just north of Rogers City, the
lighthouse was built in 1896 to assist
ships through the dangerous shoreline
where open water, hidden shoals and
false bays had claimed many vessels.
Follow “Shipwreck Trail” to see what’s
left of the Joseph S. Fay, one of 27
wooden ships that sank during a fierce
storm in 1905. You can see about 150’
of her side wall resting on the beach.
We’ll continue on to our over night
destination, Thunder Bay Resort. This
evening we’ll be transported back in
time on a horse drawn carriage ride
through the woods. Enjoy the scenery,
the smell of pine and the ever changing
face of the Thunder Bay River as we
make our way deep into the woods to
the Elk Antler Log Cabin. A blazing
fire in a massive split stone fireplace
and wonderful aromas of our yummy
meal cooked on two antique stoves will
welcome us. We’ll feast on a delicious
included dinner here. (B, D)

Day 4 Grand Blanc, MI
Our morning begins with a visit to the
Thunder Bay Maritime Heritage Center
located in the Thunder Bay National
Marine Sanctuary. The center features
exciting exhibits including a full-size
replica wooden Great Lakes schooner
and shipwreck. Walk the decks, feel
a Great Lakes storm, and touch the
massive timbers of the boat resting on
the lake bottom...without getting wet!
We’ll enjoy an included lunch at Stoney
Acres Winery on their covered garden
patio. Go inside to do some wine tasting
and grab some of their caramel corn
afterwards if you would like. We will make
our way to Frankenmuth, Michigan’s
little Bavaria. Upon arrival we’ll visit
Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland.
Nowhere is Christmas displayed with
such exuberance! Christmas Lane,
Bronner’s own thoroughfare is 1/2
mile long and is illuminated with over
100,000 Christmas lights. When Wally
Bronner painted his first sign over 50
years ago, little did he dream that his
small business would one day become
the world’s largest Christmas store.
Tonight, dinner is included at Zehnder’s,
for their famous all-you-can-eat family
style chicken dinner. Following dinner,
we’ll do a short tour of Frankenmuth and
depart for Grand Blanc, Michigan for our
overnight stay. (B, L, D)

Day 5 Bensenville, IL
We’ll travel south to Dearborn, Michigan
to the Henry Ford Museum and explore
it’s many exhibits. The museum collection
contains the presidential limousine of
John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln’s chair
from Ford’s Theatre, Thomas Edison’s
laboratory, the Wright Brothers’ bicycle
shop, the Rosa Parks bus, and many other
historical exhibits. We’ll spend most of
the day here. Dinner is included at a
local restaurant in Bensenville, Illinois, our
home for the evening. (B, D)

Day 6 Lake Geneva, WI
This morning we’ll visit Uniquely Sweet
where we will create a duo of their two
favorite confections; French Mendiants and
English Toffee. Discs of milk or dark Belgian
chocolate topped with a variety of dried
fruits, nuts, coconut and of course sea salt
complete the French Mendiants. English
toffee is a blank canvas for you to design
a personal treat of your choosing with lots
of toppings available. Crossing back into
Wisconsin to Lake Geneva for a 2 hour
cruise of the lake. There is no better way
to experience Geneva Lake than on board
a boat. This is a fully narrator cruise that
gives you an up-close view of the beautiful
estates and mansions that line the shore.
We’ll check-in our hotel in Lake Geneva after
some time to enjoy the downtown area.
Tonight, dinner is included at Rosewood
where the ingredients are locally grown and
hand picked for a farm to table experience.
After, we’ll enjoy a show in their Cabaret
Theater. (B, D)

Day 7 Home
We make our way home today but not
before making a stop in the Wisconsin Dells
for a boat tour to experience the natural
beauty, wonder and mystery of the Upper
Dells. Amazing sights are revealed at every
turn, as your boat cruises past towering
cliffs and dramatic rock formations, but the
water is just the beginning. You’ll explore
hidden passages and witness incredible
sights on two exclusive shore landings at
Witches Gulch and Stand Rock, site of the
world famous do leap! We continue home
from there. (B)
