Today’s adventure begins with some shopping, The Cannery and Valley Fish and Cheese. If you’re not a shopper, stay back at the hotel and relax, we’ll pick ya up afterwards! Today’s adventure is aboard the Celebration Belle’s fall foliage cruise. We’ll cruising down the Mississippi, and admire the colors of nature! Sit back, listen, and even dance to the sounds of your favorite tunes as we travel the muddy waters of the Mississippi River. A delicious hot lunch will be served on board. Day 3 Home
We will check out of our hotel this morning and head up the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River traveling Wisconsin’s Great River Road and let me tell you, its beautiful this time of year! We’ll make a stop at the Lock and Dam #8 in Genola, Wisconsin. Dams allow river vessels to use a series of locks to “step” up or down the river from one water level to another. The Corps operates the locks and dams on the Mississippi River for navigation, not flood control. The locks and dams create slack-water pools for navigation during periods of low- and moderate-level water. We’ll arrive in La Crosse and tour the historical Hixon House. Afterwards, we’ll head downtown to get a bite to eat at one of it’s fabulous dining establishments. As we make our way back home, we’ll stop at the Great River Road Visitor Center in Prescott, Wisconsin. We’ll arrive back in Minnesota late this afternoon and drop everyone off at their pick-up point. (B)
