Day 1 Rapid City, SD
We begin our journey by traveling to
South Dakota. Our overnight lodging will
be in the Rapid City, SD.

Day 2 Rock Springs, WY
We depart this morning and make our way
through South Dakota, making a short
stop at Mount Rushmore before entering
Wyoming. We’ll end in Rock Springs, WY
for evening stay. (B)

Day 3 Sandy, UT
This morning we will drive to the beautiful
city of Salt Lake City. Upon arrival, a local
guide will give us a tour of the capital city.
See the magnificent Salt Lake Mormon
Temple, State Capital Building, Beehive
& Lion Houses, Fort Douglas/Olympic
Village, Pioneer Park, Mormon Pioneer
trail, This Is The Place Monument, Trolley
Square and The Old Union Pacific Train
Depot and much more! We’ll spend the
night here in a suburb of Salt Lake City. (B)

Day 4 Carson City, NV
We will take time for a picture stop and to
dip your fingers into the salt water. With
the exception of the Dead Sea, the Great
Salt Lake is the saltiest body of water on
earth. We’ll then continue our travels
reaching Carson City, NV. (B)

Day 5 San Francisco, CA
We’ll begin making our way through the
Sierra Nevadas, a mountain range that
runs along the eastern edge of California.
Enjoy the views while we make our way
to Yosemite National Park. Today will
be the highlight for many as we board
an open air tram for a tour of the park.
A park rangers and naturalists will be
onboard to tell us all about the history,
flora, and fauna throughout the Park.
We’ll see sights such as Yosemite Falls, Half
Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View, Bridalveil
Fall and more! A boxed lunch will be
provided. After our tour, we will travel to
San Francisco to our hotel located within
walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf.
You’ll find Souvenir shops and clam
chowder in sourdough bread bowls at
every turn, historic ships and Ghirardelli
Square-A former chocolate factory
which houses boutiques and eateries.
Don’t forget to check out the colony of
sea lions that has made the wharf their
home. (B, L)

Day 6 San Francisco, CA
Our day begins with a guided tour of
San Francisco. We’ll see and learn many
things including the Golden Gate Bridge,
Embarcadero, Pier 39, Cliff House, Coit
Tower & Telegraph Hill, Nob Hill, Chinatown,
Union Square & so much more! Next,
board a ferry to Alcatraz. While on the
Island, Tour the Cellhouse at your own pace
on a self guided audio tour where you’ll
hear both sides of life in the Island prison
including “The Battle of ’46” & Food Riots.
Stop and picture yourself in a dark solitary
confinement cell while hearing stories of
life on the inside from former inmates. Feel
the intensity of a prison breakout from
correctional officers who lived and worked
on the Island. Then explore the rest of
the Island and its historic exhibits before
heading back to the mainland on the
ferry. We’ll return to the hotel and the rest
of the day will be on your own to explore
Fisherman’s Wharf. (B)

Day 7 Blue Lake, CA
This morning our travels take us into
giant towering redwood forests passing
through the “Avenue of the Giants” where
we are dwarfed by trees that average from
500 to 700 years old. Our first stop will be
at the “picturesque tree” where people
drive their cars through the base of the
trees. We continue on to Blue Lake Casino
in Blue Lake, California for our overnight.
You are welcome to try your luck at the
casino this evening. (B)

Day 8 Gold Beach, OR
We drive through Redwood National
Park while making stops along the way
including a stop at Trees of Mystery,
a stunning mountainside forest with
freakish trees, a museum and gift shop.
You can’t miss the official greeter, a talking
Paul Bunyan with his sidekick Babe the
Blue Ox. We continue north and cross into
Oregon to Gold Beach where we board a
boat for jet boat ride for 64 miles along
the Rogue River. We travel along the
Historic Mail Boat route just as Rogue River
pioneers have done since 1895, when
road access did not exist. They are one of
the only ‘Mail Boats’ in the nation, and still
deliver the mail. (B)

Day 9 Portland, OR
Enjoy beautiful ocean views this morning
as we make our way up the Oregon coast
to the Sand Dunes for a thrilling ride on
a giant dune buggy across the beautiful
sand dunes and beaches of Oregon. We’ll
continue to Portland, Oregon’s largest city.
Upon arrival, we will tour the International
Rose Test Gardens, the oldest official
continuously operated public rose test
garden in the U.S. There are over 7,000 rose
plants of approximately 550 varieties. This
evening, we’ll enjoy an included dinner at
a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 10 Moses Lake, WA
Traveling along the Columbia River, the
most powerful river in the United States,
to magnificent Multnomah Falls. Then
we’ll stop at the Bonneville Dam, which
provides electricity and flood control.
While here, we’ll check out the visitor
center and see fish ladders that allow
salmon to bypass the dam and continue
upstream while here. We travel to Moses
Lake, Washington to spend the night. (B)

Day 11 Whitefish, MT
We depart this morning and drive to
beautiful Coeur d’ Alene, located in
northern Idaho. We cross into Montana
and drive to Whitefish, where we’ll checkinto
our accommodation for the evening.

Day 12 Minot, ND
This morning we board Amtrak and travel
through Montana skirting along the
Missouri River then travel across the plains
of North Dakota. Our motor coach will
meet us in the magic city of Minot, North
Dakota and will transfer us to our hotel for
the evening. (B)

Day 13 Home
Our last day on the road takes us across
North Dakota and into Minnesota We will
have opportunity to take those last photos
and say goodbye to our new found friends
as we reminisce on our beautiful tour. (B)
