Day 1 Tinley Park, IL
Spring is such a beautiful time of the year,
flowers are in bloom everywhere and it’s
a wonderful time to take a tour to the
Holland Tulip Festival and Shipshewana
Amish Country! We’ll travel through
Wisconsin with a stop at Norske Nook
for an included lunch, then into Illinois
for our overnight stay in the Chicago
area. (L)

Day 2 Holland, MI
We’ll travel to Holland, Michigan today
and celebrate the Tulip Festival. It has
been held every year since 1929 and is
currently the largest tulip festival in the
United States. The town plants 35,000
bulbs for Tulip Time each year with over
100 varieties of tulips. Upon arrival we’ll
enjoy an included lunch with a show
(due to the events schedule not being
out, please call our office to find out
more details on the show) before we
spend our afternoon at the Volksparade.
The Parade is led by thousands of locals
dressed in Dutch costumes. Focusing on
traditions brought from the Netherlands,
participants gather at the beginning
of the parade for the official Street
Scrubbing. Then experience bands,
floats, and Dutch Dance groups as
they “Klomp” along the route in their
authentic costumes complete with
wooden shoes! Next, we’ll visit the
famous Windmill Island featuring a
248 year old working Dutch windmill
“DeZwaan” (meaning graceful bird). The
windmill reaches 125 feet at the top of
the blades and it towers over 36 acres of
manicured gardens. Tonight, we’ll feast
on an included dinner before attending
a show. Due to the events schedule not
being out, please call our office to find
out more details on the show. (B, L, D)

Day 3 Shipshewana, IN
We’ll begin our day with a tour of
Holland by a Dutch-costumed guide
who will board our bus. The tour includes
Holland’s historic areas, city parks,
Hope College, downtown and the tulip
lanes. Next, we’re off to Veldheer Tulip
Farm, where we’ll find acres of beautiful
blooms with over 5 million tulips.
Included in our tour is the Wooden Shoe
and Delft Factory, you can talk with the
artists as they hand carve wooden shoes
or hand-paint blue and white delftware.
Later, we’ll continue on our trip and head
to Shipshewana, located in the heart of
Amish Country. Upon arrival, we’ll checkin
to our hotel and grab a bite to eat on
your own before attending Jim Stafford
at the Blue Gate Musical Hall. (B)

Day 4 Shipshewana, IN
Our morning begins with an Amish
countryside tour with a local Amish
guide. We’ll see where many still live
a centuries-old “Plain” lifestyle. Lunch
is included today as we visit an Amish
home for a home cooked meal. We’ll
visit several Amish Cottage Shops during
our tour such as a Cheese Shop and a
Wind Chime Shop. Tonight, we’ll enjoy
an included dinner at the Blue Gate
Restaurant before attending “Stolen”
at the Blue Gate Theater. The show is
about a small Pennsylvania community
that is shaken when the infant son of a
prominent Amish family is kidnapped.
