One of the highlights for many on this tour will be today, as we visit Lancaster, America’s oldest Amish settlement. Here, thousands still live a centuries-old “Plain” lifestyle. We’ll step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace, where the horse and buggy remain a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape. We will enjoy a guided tour of the Amish area and an included Amish style lunch in an Amish home. This afternoon, spend some time at Kitchen Kettle Village to explore, shop and maybe even take a horse and buggy ride if you would like. (B, L)

Day 5 Arlington, VA
To give you a professional tour of Washington D.C. we have hired a licensed local guide that will accompany us today. Our first stop today will be at the Holocaust Museum, a living memorial to the Holocaust. Spanning three floors, take a self-guided tour through historical artifacts, photographs, and film footage. Next, we’ll head over to the Smithsonian Institute, the world’s largest museum and research complex. It consists of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon to have lunch and explore here. Afterwards, we’ll check into our accommodations for the next 3 nights. Then when the sun goes down, Washington turns into a different city! We’ll board our bus for an Illuminated tour of Washington D.C. with a local guide who will show us this capital city in a different light.
