Capitol. Enjoy this day of travel by
getting to know your fellow passengers
as we cross scenic Wisconsin into Illinois,
to our overnight in Tinley Park.

Day 2 Somerset, PA
Today’s journey will take us through
Indiana, the Hoosier State, to Ohio, the
Buckeye State, and then Pennsylvania,
the Keystone State to our overnight
lodging in Somerset. Dinner is included
at a local restaurant tonight. (B, D)

Day 3 Lancaster, PA
We will head to Gettysburg National
Military Park. Upon arrival, we’ll go to
the Visitor Center where you will have
time to explore the Museum, where we’ll
learn about Gettysburg and a divided
Nation at war. Then, we’ll see the film
“A New Birth of Freedom” to orient you
to the battle and the American Civil War.
Afterwards, you will experience the sights
and sounds of the battle in the historic,
Cyclorama painting. The painting is
longer than a football field and weighs
three tons! Our learning experience isn’t
over yet, climb back on the bus and a
guide with fill us full of history as we tour
the Battlefield. Once our tour is finished,
we will head to our overnight destination
in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. (B)

Day 4 Lancaster, PA
One of the highlights for many on this
tour will be today, as we visit Lancaster,
America’s oldest Amish settlement. Here,
thousands still live a centuries-old “Plain”
lifestyle. We’ll step back in time to enjoy
a slower, more peaceful pace, where the
horse and buggy remain a primary form
of transportation, and where windmills
dot the landscape. We will enjoy a
guided tour of the Amish area and an
included Amish style lunch in an Amish
home. This afternoon, spend some time
at Kitchen Kettle Village to explore, shop
and maybe even take a horse and buggy
ride if you would like. (B, L)

Day 5 Arlington, VA
To give you a professional tour of
Washington D.C. we have hired a licensed
local guide that will accompany us
today. The guide is very knowledgeable
on the area and the sights we are
about to experience. We’ll see sights
such as Washington Monument and
Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean,
WWII, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Iwo
Jima Memorials. We will also drive
by Kennedy Center, Embassy Row,
National Cathedral, National Archives,
and the Old Post Office. And our tour
wouldn’t be complete without a photo
stop in front of the White House. (B)

Day 6 Arlington, VA
Our first stop today will be at the
Holocaust Museum, a living memorial
to the Holocaust. Spanning three
floors, take a self-guided tour through
historical artifacts, photographs, and
film footage. Next, we’ll head over to
the Smithsonian Institute, the world’s
largest museum and research complex.
It consists of 19 museums and galleries,
the National Zoological Park, and nine
research facilities. You’ll have the rest
of the afternoon to have lunch and
explore here. Afterwards, we’ll check
into our accommodations for the next 3
nights. Then when the sun goes down,
Washington turns into a different city!
We’ll board our bus for an Illuminated
tour of Washington D.C. with a local
guide who will show us this capital city
in a different light. We’ll see and visit
many of the memorials and monuments
including the Lincoln Memorial, WWII
Memorial, Kennedy Center and many
more. (B)

Day 7 Arlington, VA
We’ll begin our day with a walking tour
of the Capitol. We will see a film about
our country’s struggle to establish
the world’s first truly representative
democracy and introduce you to the
magnificent building that houses our
Congress. Our walking tour includes
the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National
Statuary Hall. Then, we’re off to Mount
Vernon, the most popular historic estate
in America and the home of the George
and Martha Washington. We’ll get a
glimpse into 18th-century plantation life
through beautiful gardens and grounds,
intriguing museum exhibits, and
impressive programs honoring George
Washington’s life and legacy. (B)

Day 8 Somerset, PA
Today we’ll visit Arlington National
Cemetery for a trolley tour with stops to
see the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial,
the Kennedy gravesites, U.S. Coast
Guard Memorial, John J. Pershing’s
gravesite, the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier to witness the changing of the
Guard. Afterwards, we’ll say goodbye
to Washington and head to Somerset,
Pennsylvania stopping along the way at
the Flight 93 Memorial. Located at the
site of the crash of United Airlines Flight
93, which was hijacked in the September
11 attacks, take time to reflect on the
40 heros aboard that plane that tragic
September day. (B)

Day 9 Richmond, IN
We travel into Ohio this morning and
visit the National Museum of the
United States Air Force, the oldest and
largest military aviation museum in the
world. It is located at Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio. The
museum features more than 300 aircraft
and missiles and displays early space
suits, advanced missiles and bombs
used during the Persian Gulf War. We
