Today we begin our tour to the spectacular Canadian Rockies. Our first evening’s stay will be in Minot, North Dakota. Tonight, we’ll have a pizza party at our hotel to hang out and get to know our fellow travelers. (D)

Day 2 Medicine Hat, AB
This morning will enter Canada and make our way to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, which is known for its giant historical murals. Here, we’ll have lunch on our own before we continue our trek to Medicine Hat for our overnight. We’ll stop along the way for a picture stop at the Saskatchewan Nature Center. You’ll get a view of Chaplin Lake, Canada’s second largest saline lake. Besides being a source of high-quality sodium sulphate, the lake is also excellent habitat for a number of migratory shorebird species. We’ll travel to Medicine Hat, Albert this evening. (B)

Day 3 Calgary, AB
Today’s journey takes us across the grain belt of Saskatchewan into Alberta. Upon arrival, we’ll explore downtown a little bit before checking into our hotel. Tonight, attend the Calgary Stampede. Brace yourself for the best of chuckwagon racing followed by an epic stage show, making for a memorable evening. (B)

Day 4 Saskatchewan River Crossing
We will get our first look at the Canadian Rockies this morning. We’ll be climbing in elevation until we arrive in Banff. We’ll spend the day touring Banff National Park including the Cascade Gardens, Bow Falls and Sulphur Mountain. At Sulphur Mountain, we will ride a Gondola to the top of the mountain. We’ll continue through the park seeing cool lakes, beautiful meadows, and magnificent waterfalls including the breath taking, blue-green Lake Louise which springs from Victoria Glacier, Crowfoot Glacier and Peyto Lake. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 5 Jasper, AB
This morning we’ll drive to the Columbia Ice-field, the largest mass of ice in the Rocky Mountains. We will take a Glacier Adventure. Ride on a massive Ice Explorer to trek onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier and stop on top of the glacier, where you can get out and walk on the ice and fill your water bottle with fresh glacier water. Next, we’ll get a bird’s eye view of the Sunwapta Valley on the Glacier Skywalk. Step out on a cliff-edge walkway where giant glaciers perch above you and the spectacular Sunwapta Valley spreads out below. The walkway leads to a platform where glass is all that separates you from a 918-foot drop. We’ll continue to Banff where lunch will be included at Banff Springs Hotel. Next stop, Sunwapta Falls meaning “turbulent water” and Athabasca Falls-a favorite by many of our travelers! We’ll then travel along the Athabasca River through Jasper National Park to our home for the evening in Jasper, an alpine town in Alberta located in the heart of Jasper National Park. (B, L)

Day 6 Fairmont Hot Springs, BC
