Day 1 Rapid City, SD
We depart this morning to travel to the great state of South Dakota and the Badlands. We’ll leisurely meander through the Badlands which have so much to offer in fascinating wonders and colors along with the marvelous terrain for the sightseer. Our overnight will be in Rapid City, SD.
Day 2 Deadwood, SD
Our morning begins with a visit to Chapel in the Hills, a replica of an 840 year old Borglund Church in Norway, and then we will drive through Bear Country U.S.A., viewing from the motorcoach, grizzlies, moose, wolves, mountain lions, sheep, and more in their natural habitat. This afternoon, we will view the Shrine of Democracy, Mount Rushmore. Over the decades, Mount Rushmore has grown in fame as a symbol of America-a symbol of freedom and hope for people from all cultures and backgrounds. Then we are off to the Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest mountain carving. We return to our hotel for the evening. (B)
Day 3 Deadwood, SD
This morning, we will drive to Hill City and board the 1880 Train for our journey back in time as we ride to Keystone. Upon arrival to Keystone, we will enjoy some time to shop and have lunch. We then return to Deadwood for an afternoon of adventure in the casinos or exploring the town or just relaxing at the hotel. This evening we will attend The Trial of Jack McCall. (B)
Day 4 Medora, ND
We will depart Deadwood this morning and travel through Spearfish Canyon From there, we traverse North into the North Dakota Badlands and the town of Medora. Here we will be treated to the Pitchfork Fondue and a performance of the Medora Musical. Our accommodations this evening will be in Medora. (B, D)
Day 5 Home
This morning we depart for home. We will spend our last hours together reminiscing about all we have seen as we make our way across North Dakota. (B)
