Day 1 Minot, ND
We begin our journey by traveling to North Dakota. Our overnight lodging will be in Minot.

Day 2 Whitefish, MT
This morning we will make our way to Montana traveling aboard the Amtrak to Whitefish for our overnight. (B)

Day 3 Moses Lake, WA
We depart this morning and drive to beautiful Coeur d’ Alene, located in northern Idaho on the north shore of Lake Coeur d’ Alene. Enjoy some time to explore and have lunch on your own. Afterwards, we head to Moses Lake, our home for the night. (B)

Day 4 Portland, OR
Our sightseeing begins this morning at the magnificent Multnomah Falls. This afternoon we will make our way to the Columbia River, the most powerful river in the United States. We will stop at Bonneville Dam on the Columbia. We will see the fish ladders that allow salmon to bypass the dam and continue upstream. Our evening will be spent in Portland, Oregon. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 5 Gold Beach, OR
This morning we will tour the International Rose Test Gardens, the oldest official continuously operated public rose test garden in the U.S. There are over 7,000 rose plants of approximately 550 varieties. This afternoon we travel to the Sand Dunes for a thrilling ride on a giant dune buggy across the beautiful white sand beaches of Oregon. Our evening stay will be in the city of Gold Beach. (B)

Day 6 Blue Lake, CA
Today we have planned a jet boat ride along the Rogue River. We will travel along the Historic Mail Boat route just as Rogue River pioneers have done since 1895, when road access did not exist. They are one of the only ‘Mail Boats’ in the nation, and still deliver the mail. Lunch is included. This afternoon we drive through Redwood National Park which boasts the tallest tree in the world, reaching 368 feet and up to 12 feet in diameter. We will also make a stop at Paul Banyan and his Ox Gift Shop along the way to our hotel in Blue Lake. (B, L)

Day 7 San Francisco, CA
This morning our travels take us into giant towering redwood forests passing through the “Avenue of the Giants” where we are dwarfed by trees that average from 500 to 700 years old. Our first stop will be at the “picturesque tree” where people drive their cars through the base of the trees. We continue on to San Francisco where we overnight. Upon arrival we‘ll check into our accommodations on Fisherman’s Wharf. The rest of the day is on your own. (B)

Day 8 Carson City, NV
We’ll begin making our way through the Sierra Nevadas, a mountain range that runs along the eastern edge of California. Enjoy the views while we make our way to Yosemite National Park. Today will be the highlight for many as we board an open air tram for a tour of the park. A park rangers and naturalists will be on board to tell us all about the history, flora, and fauna throughout the Park. We’ll see sights such as Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View, Bridal veil Fall and more! A boxed lunch will be provided. After our tour, we will travel to Carson City, Nevada. (B, L)

Day 9 Salt Lake City, NV
We continue our trek back towards home arriving in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah. With the exception of the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake is the saltiest body of water on earth. Tonight’s stay will be in Salt Lake City. (B)

Day 10 Rock Springs, WY
This morning we will enjoy a tour of the capital city. See the magnificent Salt Lake Mormon Temple, State Capital Building, Beehive & Lion Houses, Fort Douglas/Olympic Village, Pioneer Park, Mormon Pioneer trail, This Is The Place Monument, Trolley Square and The Old Union Pacific Train Depot and much more! We then continue to Wyoming, where we will overnight in Rock Springs. (B)

Day 11 Rapid City, SD
We depart this morning and make our way into South Dakota. We will make a short stop at Mount Rushmore as we make our way to Rapid City for the evening. (B)

Day 12 Home
Our last day on the road takes us across South Dakota. We will have opportunity to take those last photos and say goodbye to our new found friends as we reminisce on our beautiful tour. (B)
