Day 1 Schaumburg, IL
Sit back and relax as we begin our journey to Washington, DC and New York City. We will begin by getting acquainted as we cross scenic Wisconsin as we learn about the exciting days ahead.

Day 2 Monroeville, PA
Today our journey will take us into Pennsylvania, the Keystone State. The name Pennsylvania means Penn’s Woods and is named after William Penn. Tonight, we will be lodging in Monroeville, a suburb of Pittsburgh. (B)

Day 3 Gettysburg, PA
Our morning begins at the Flight 93 Memorial. Located at the site of the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked in the September 11 attacks, take time to reflect on the 40 hero’s aboard that plane that tragic September day. Next we will check out the Eisenhower Historical Site. The farm served the president and first lady as a weekend retreat and as a meeting place for world leaders. Tonight, dinner is included at the Historic Dobbin House. (B, D)

Day 4 Washington DC
We will head to Gettysburg National Military Park this morning. We'll stop at the Visitor Center see the film “A New Birth of Freedom” to orient you to the battle and the American Civil War and view the amazing Cyclorama painting. The painting is longer than a football field and weighs three tons! Next, we'll climb back on the bus and a guide with fill us full of history as we tour the Battlefield. We’ll head to Washington from here. This evening we’ll board our motorcoach for an Illuminated Tour of Washington DC with a local guide who will show us this capital city in a different light. We’ll see and visit many of the memorials and monuments including the Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Kennedy Center and many more. (B)

Day 5 & 6 Washington DC
To give you a professional tour of Washington D.C. we have hired a licensed local guide that will accompany us for two full days. The guide is very knowledgeable about the city and the sights we are about to experience. We’ll see sights such as Washington Monument and Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, WWII, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Iwo Jima Memorials. We will also drive by Kennedy Center, Embassy Row, National Cathedral, National Archives, and the Old Post Office. And our tour wouldn’t be complete without a photo stop in front of the White House. While in Washington DC we’ll also do a walking tour of the Capitol with an included lunch, visit the Holocaust Museum. At the Capitol, we’ll see a film about our country’s struggle to establish the world’s first truly representative democracy and introduce you to the magnificent building that houses our Congress. Our walking tour includes the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. The Holocaust Museum, a living memorial to the Holocaust. Spanning three floors, take a self-guided tour through historical artifacts, photographs, and film footage. (2-B, 1-L)

Day 7 Washington DC
Today we’re off to Mount Vernon, the most popular historic estate in America and the home of the George and Martha Washington. We’ll get a glimpse into 18th-century plantation life through beautiful gardens and grounds, intriguing museum exhibits, and impressive programs honoring George Washington’s life and legacy. Lunch is included here. Next stop, Arlington National Cemetery for a trolley tour with stops to see the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, the Kennedy grave sites, U.S. Coast Guard Memorial, John J. Pershing’s grave site, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to witness the changing of the Guard. Tonight dinner is included at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 8 New York City, NY
This morning we’ll visit Smithsonian Institute, the world’s largest museum and research complex. It consists of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities. You’ll have the morning here to explore and have lunch. Then we’ll depart our nation’s capital and travel to the first and former capital of the United States, New York City. We make a stop at Philadelphia’s historic area and the National Constitution Center with a chance to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Next, we’ll continue to New York City and check-in to our lodging for the next two nights in Secaucus, NJ. This evening we will experience Manhattan from the water. We’ll experience panoramic views of the city at night, sail beneath the Statue of Liberty and under the Brooklyn Bridge all while enjoying an included dinner and dancing aboard a cruise on New York City’s Harbor. Day 9 New York City, NY
We’ll travel back into the bustling city this morning where we’ll meet a local guide for a tour of New York City. Among the sites we will see today are Fifth Avenue, Trump Tower, United Nations Headquarters, Grand Central Station, Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Harlem, Apollo Theater, Grant’s Tomb and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine & much more! We’ll end our tour with a visit to the 911 Memorial and Museum. (B)

Day 10 Clearfield, PA
We begin our day by boarding a ferry which takes us to the famous point of embarkation for so many immigrants, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty to see the “lady” herself. Then we’ll depart and make our way back towards home. We’ll travel as far as Clearfield, PA. Dinner is included this evening at the Dutch Pantry. (B, D)

Day 11 Schaumburg, IL
We’ll spend our day traveling today. Our overnight is in Schaumburg, IL. (B)

Day 12 Home
Our last day brings us back home to Minnesota. (B)
