Day 1 Bloomington, MN

A Riley motorcoach will transfer us to Minneapolis this afternoon so everyone can get a good nights sleep before our early morning flight tomorrow. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner to get acquainted with our fellow travelers and learn about the days ahead. (D)

Day 2 Alajuela, Costa Rica

We’ll arrive in Costa Rica today to the Juan Santamaria International Airport. We’ll meet our english speaking local tour guide and be transported to our hotel. Our accommodations are located on top of a mountains, take in the views of three volcanos in the Central Valley. Dinner is included this evening at the Resort. (D)

Day 3 Alajuela, Costa Rica

Our adventures begin today as we make our way to Poas Volcano National Park. This volcano rises to 2,708 meters above sea level and we’ll have the chance to see the crater. Next, we visit Hacienda Doka, for a coffee experience tour. Learn about the plantation and the step-by-step process from planting to harvesting of one of Costa Rica’s contributer to it’s economy. After our tour we’ll do a tasting of their famous chocolates and coffee. We’ll return to hotel. There is an included dinner this evening. (B, D)

Day 4 Arenal, Costa Rica

This morning we travel to Arenal. Here we will visit the amazing Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. See the rainforest from a bird’s point of view, this unique way of seeing the rainforest will give you an experience you will never forget. Many exotic animals do not live on the ground, but in the trees, here you will be able to see these animals and enjoy all the sounds they make around you while traveling on paths, fixed bridges and hanging bridges. We’ll learn about the birds, flora, mammals, amphibians and reptiles that call the reserve home. We will check-in to our hotel which offers direct views of the majestic Arenal Volcano from your private terrace in your room. Tonight, dinner is included at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 5 Arenal, Costa Rica

Today we will board a raft for a Safari float amid a tropical rainforest filled with local wildlife. Our guides will provide us with a safe environment while showing us the beautiful flora and fauna of this region on this half day trip. Animals like sloths, monkeys, toucans, crocodiles, lizards and turtles can be seen here. Once we return, the rest of the day is on your own to enjoy our resort. Be sure to take a dip in the hot springs pools located at our hotel. Dinner is included. (B, D)

Day 6 Arenal, Costa Rica

Another big adventure today, we’ll begin with the Sky Tram, a slow-paced gondola offering impressive views of the rainforest, Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake with an onboard guide. Then it’s time for our Sky Trek...ziplining! Get views of the tropical forest that only a bird could experience. This canopy tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables with a total length of 1.7 miles and maximum height of 660 feet. Dinner is included this evening. (B, D)

Day 7 Monteverde, Costa Rica

Today we will travel to Monteverde passing by Lake Arenal. We’ll check-in tour hotel which features a fabulous view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Tonight, we will take a Guided Night Tour. Witness a beautiful sunset then see the forest’s exuberating night life and spot some wildlife while we walk nature trails that border the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Dinner is included. (B, D)

Day 8 Monteverde, Costa Rica

Today will be spent at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. We’ll do a guided tour. It is one of the most famous conservation areas in Central America. It’s a tropical rainforest but because of it’s altitude, its called a Cloud Forest. This highland forest is characterized by nearly 100% humidity throughout the year. Here in Monteverde, warm north-easterly trade winds, filled with moisture, blow in from the Atlantic. As the winds sweep up to the Continental Divide, they cool and condense to form clouds, bathing the forest in a constant soft mist. The Cloud Forest receiveds an incredible four meters of rain every year--thats over 12 feet! It’s home to rare and unusual wildflife such as jaguars and pumas, and over 450 species of birds including the wor’s largest population of quetzal birds. We return to hotel for an included dinner. Day 9 Tamarindo, Costa Rica

We will spend part of our day traveling to Tamarindo, a beach town located on the western coast of Costa Rica. Our accommodations include oceanview rooms located just a few yards from the beach and have a private balcony for watching the amazing Tamarindo sunset! Take the rest of the day to enjoy one of the four pools or the beach. Enjoy an included dinner tonight. (B, D)

Day 10 Tamarindo, Costa Rica

This morning we will board our private catamaran to sail to one of the many pristine beaches in the area to go snorkeling. We’ll hope to see turtles, dolphins, flying fish or whales along the way. A light lunch is served. We’ll return to our hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy our resort. Tonight we will gather for our last included dinner together as a group. (B, D)

Day 11 Flight Home

We’ll be transfered to Guanacaste International Airport for our return flight home. A Riley motorcoach will be awaiting our arrival to bring us back to our original pick-up points.
